Usedom (dpa / mv) – A driver fell into a microsleep on the island of Usedom and caused an accident with a total of three injuries. The 54-year-old fell asleep while driving in Usedom city on Friday and got into oncoming traffic, said the Neubrandenburg police headquarters. A total of three cars were involved in the accident. One person was seriously injured and two people suffered minor injuries. The seriously injured man was flown to the Greifswald University Hospital in a rescue helicopter. The person who caused the accident is now being investigated because of the danger to road traffic, it said.
