Bad Berleburg (dpa / lnw) – On a potato field near Bad Berleburg in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, an unknown person has grown hemp in the open air on a large scale. Officials harvested around 2,500 well-developed plants between the potatoes, the police said on Monday. Witnesses had previously become suspicious because obviously not only potato plants were growing in the field. Whether the farmer who owns the field is responsible for the illegal cultivation must now be determined. Normally, hemp plants for the production of drugs are cultivated well hidden in halls by criminals.
