Durban’s annual Durban July is expected to draw thousands of spectators this weekend. It is billed as Africa’s largest horse-racing event.
Many are there for the glamour and fashion.
Saturday’s fashion contest featured the best creations of local designers.
Because it was held behind closed doors the past two years because of the Covid pandemic, this year’s event was highly anticipated.
Jessica Nkosi, a local actress, was one of the attendees.
Some people were there to race.
This event will also help to boost the local economy. It was badly affected by the April floods in Durban and the riots that followed the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma. Many punters hoped to make it big at Greyville Racecourse.
For many, however, it’s all about fashion.
