Rheinstetten (dpa / lsw) – A small river cruise ship with 166 passengers on board was towed on Tuesday after an accident on the Rhine. A freight ship brings it to the Iffezheim lock (Rastatt district), said a spokesman for the police headquarters. Divers should check whether everything is okay on the ship. If so, the ship can continue to Düsseldorf.

Around midnight near Rheinstetten (Karlsruhe district), the ship ran aground on a groyne, a system in the river to reduce the flow speed. A woman was slightly injured. Rescue workers took care of them. The other passengers stayed on board and waited for the onward journey.
