Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – Power generation from photovoltaics increased significantly in the first quarter due to the sunny weather in March in Hesse. As the State Statistical Office announced on Tuesday, there was an increase of 21 percent compared to the first three months of the previous year.

331,290 megawatt hours of photovoltaic electricity were fed into the country’s electricity grids. According to the statisticians, that was eight percent of the total amount of electricity fed into the grid for the first time, or almost 15 percent of the electricity from renewable energies fed into the grid for the first time. The state office announced that the share of renewable energies in the total Hessian electricity feed was 52 percent.
