Freising (dpa / lby) – A drunken man forced a train to brake in Upper Bavaria. The 31-year-old wanted to cross the tracks in Freising, stumbled and stayed on the track, the federal police reported on Monday.
The driver of the approaching regional express on the way from Munich to Nuremberg recognized the man in good time and stopped the train in front of him. According to the police, the approximately 100 passengers on the train were not injured by the emergency stop. However, the train driver suffered a shock and was replaced by a colleague.
The visibly drunk 31-year-old refused a voluntary breath alcohol test, it said. The incident on Saturday evening caused obstructions on the train route. The federal police are investigating the 31-year-old because of a dangerous intervention in rail traffic.
