The case of a 17-year-old who initially disappeared without a trace in Hamm apparently ended tragically: a woman’s body was discovered in a nature reserve on Friday – the investigators assume that it is the missing person.
The woman’s body discovered in a nature reserve near Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia is apparently a missing 17-year-old. The police and the public prosecutor’s office announced this on Friday evening. The young woman from the Märkisch district had therefore disappeared since last Tuesday (June 14).
According to police reports, a cyclist discovered the body on a path around 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The body was on fire at the time, the spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said. But the fire was not the cause of death. “We assume that she had been dead for several days and that the body was only cremated there to remove traces,” he said. There was initially no information about the suspects. A homicide detective is investigating.
“The woman died violently several days ago at another location. The place where she was found is therefore not the scene of the crime,” the responsible prosecutor Henner Kruse is quoted as saying by the “Bild” newspaper. According to the report, the victim is said to be 17-year-old Carina A. Accordingly, she disappeared after she had set off for a walk with her German Shepherd ten days ago. The dog was found by police officers 200 meters from the place of residence in the forest.
