Leipzig (dpa/sn) – People in Saxony can expect very changeable weather at the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy throughout the state, and showers and thunderstorms are also possible during the day, according to a spokesman for the German Weather Service. Nevertheless, it remains warm with temperatures up to 28 degrees. Sunday night will be dry, slightly cloudy and it will cool down to a low of 14 degrees. Sunday in Freistaat will be summery, the temperatures will rise to up to 33 degrees with lots of sunshine.

From Monday, a cold front will be responsible for an increased risk of severe weather. According to the German weather service, the expected rainfall will not be sufficient to end the persistent drought – this would require a constant rain situation for several days, which is currently not foreseeable.
