Nordhausen (dpa/th) – A 33-year-old man triggered a police operation in Nordhausen because he was out and about in town with a machete on Monday. First, a 52-year-old woman reported that the man had been throwing stones at her window for several hours. As the police announced on Tuesday, he was already gone when the officers arrived at the scene. But he could be found nearby.
The officers seized the machete, and the man, who is under the influence of drugs, is being investigated for violating the Weapons Act. The police could not provide any information on his motives and whether the woman and the man knew each other.
