Offenbach (dpa/lhe) – More than 700 police officers arrested 30 suspects in a large-scale raid on Tuesday in the Rhine-Main area on suspicion of drug trafficking organized by gangs. Arrest warrants had already been issued against ten men between the ages of 28 and 36 and a 32-year-old woman, police and prosecutors said. A total of 46 objects such as apartments, garages or commercial premises were searched by the investigators. The public prosecutor’s office accuses the suspects of gang and commercial drug trafficking and some of them forming a criminal organization and violations of the weapons law. Among other things, they are said to have smuggled more than two tons of cannabis from Spain to Germany.
