Regensburg (dpa/lby) – Shortly before the start of the pre-season, SSV Jahn Regensburg continues to form its squad for the coming season in the 2nd Bundesliga. As the Upper Palatinate announced on Friday, offensive player Oscar Schönfelder is coming on loan for a season from Bundesliga promoted Werder Bremen.

The 21-year-old moved to Bremen from the Mainz youth team in 2020. In the past season he made ten appearances in the second division with the North Germans. “He is a flexible player with a good education. His strengths include speed, technique and understanding of the game,” said Sporting Director Roger Stilz about the new signing.

For Schönfelder, the main thing is to reach the second division level. “Personally, I would like to get as much playing time as possible and to establish myself further in professional football. In this environment, like here at SSV Jahn, I can work on my strengths and weaknesses,” said the native of Berlin.
