Munich (dpa / lby) – Jovana Damnjanovic will storm for the soccer players of FC Bayern Munich at least until the summer of 2025. The Bundesliga club announced the premature extension of the contract with the Serbian international on Friday. “I don’t feel 100 percent here, but 200 percent. I never had any doubts about staying. There is no other club in the world I would rather play for,” said the 27-year-old, according to the club’s statement .

Damnjanovic came to Munich from SC Sand in 2017. In 82 competitive games for Bayern, the Serb scored 39 goals. “Jovana embodies FC Bayern Munich. She is not only an important player, but also an incredible personality and an indispensable part of our team,” said the sporting director of the FCB women, Bianca Rech. The extension with “Jovi” is an important step to continue to create continuity.

In August 2020, Damnjanovic suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in the Champions League and was out for almost nine months. But the Serbian fought back and is pursuing big goals with Bayern. “My personal goals are to position myself as number one in Germany. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I want to win the Champions League,” said the offensive player.

In the past season, the Munich team finished runners-up behind VfL Wolfsburg. In the premier class it was over in the quarterfinals against Paris Saint-Germain.
