Erfurt (dpa/th) – According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the corona incidence in Thuringia is well below that of other federal states. While the nationwide seven-day incidence was 279.9 on Thursday, it was just 82.3 in Thuringia, according to the RKI dashboard. This is by far the lowest value nationwide. On Thursday of the previous week, the RKI had given the number as 80.7. Nationwide it was 221.4 at the time.
However, according to the Ministry of Health, significantly fewer PCR tests have been carried out in Thuringia since the end of March than before. Only PCR-confirmed cases were included in the seven-day incidence, according to the ministry’s Corona Weekly Report on Thursday. In addition, there were probably delays in reporting around Pentecost.
According to the weekly report, the incidences have recently fallen sharply, especially in children, after the regular tests in schools and daycare centers were suspended. This is reflected, for example, in the fact that people infected with corona in Thuringia were on average 35 years old in January and February and 46 years old in June. And while incidences have risen in almost all age groups over the past week, they have continued to fall in school-age children.
