Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Cornelia Lüddemann has been confirmed as leader of the Greens parliamentary group in Saxony-Anhalt. The 54-year-old was unanimously elected, the parliamentary group announced on Tuesday in Magdeburg. Lüddemann explained that she was pleased with the trust placed in her. The aim is to continue to get the best out of the opposition. “More climate protection remains our top priority. We will continue to get in touch with local citizens.” Lüddemann has led the parliamentary group since 2016.

The Parliamentary Secretary Sebastian Striegel was also confirmed in office, he received five yes and one no vote. The term of office of the parliamentary group leader runs until the end of the legislative period. The Greens have six seats in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt.
