At the beginning of June, after a two-year break, Rock am Ring is finally back on stage. This year, the festival has taken up the cause of more sustainability. A few tickets are still available, but thanks to RTL you can also follow the whole thing live from home.

The anticipation of the festival-goers is increasing: Among other things, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park will soon open their doors again after a pandemic break. The Rock am Ring festival, which will take place at the beginning of June at the Nürburgring in the Eifel, presented this year’s sustainability concept. The organizers also announced on the website that only around 1,000 of the 90,000 weekend tickets were still available.

In cooperation with Utopia, festival visitors can rent tents and camping equipment from Rock am Ring. There will also be tent drop-off stations to reduce the number of tents left behind. The handed in tents are in turn transformed into bags or jackets. In addition, all festival merch is sustainably produced.

To reduce waste, in addition to reusable cups, there will be reusable cutlery with a deposit system for the first time and all festival visitors will receive garbage bags. The volume of waste is to be measured at this year’s Rock am Ring in order to be able to implement further measures to reduce waste next year.
