Mexico City (dpa/lhe) – Eintracht Frankfurt also received great recognition for the Europa League triumph from its ex-goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky. “I’m very happy about that. It’s just amazing what the boys have done. All of Germany was a Eintracht fan,” said the current Bayer Leverkusen captain and self-proclaimed “Eintracht fanboy” to the German Press Agency. Hradecky followed the final victory against Glasgow Rangers on the Leverkusen side’s final trip to Mexico.
Eintracht’s triumph shows “that team spirit and togetherness can ultimately outweigh quality. They have shown us all that in this Europa League season,” said Hradecky. “And that also awakens title dreams at Bayer Leverkusen.” The 32-year-old Czech played in Frankfurt from 2015 to 2018 and moved to Leverkusen in 2018 immediately after winning the DFB Cup.
