Erfurt (dpa/th) – With the unveiling of a plaque for the Thuringian State Prize for Building Culture 2020/2021, the “Green Campus” of the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences (FH) was officially opened on Monday. For the project, Erfurt University of Applied Sciences deservedly received the Thuringian State Prize for Building Culture, which was awarded for the first time, explained Building Minister Susanna Karawanskij (left).

According to the University of Applied Sciences, the project is an experimental timber panel construction that offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly room solution. The “Green Campus” can be divided into easily transportable modules and is thus a mobile lecture hall building to solve temporary space requirements at the university.

It also has regenerative heating and ventilation technology and is barrier-free accessible. In particular, the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Forestry use the building. The “Green Campus” is based on an interdisciplinary design by students majoring in architecture and building and energy technology at the University of Applied Sciences.
