The ‘survey on the use of drugs in secondary teachings in Spain’, which annually performs the Ministry of Health, sheds that in 2021 Spanish adolescents reduced the consumption of all types of drugs except hypnosedants, a category that encompasses the anxioletics and
Somnifers.
Between 14 and 18, about 20% of the students surveyed ensures that they have taken these drugs at least once and half assures that it has consumed them without the doctor to have prescribed them.
In addition, consumption is more worrisome as adolescents grow.
At 18, 31% of girls claim to have tested them while at the age of 14, the percentage stays at 20%.
And, if consumption is analyzed in the last month, 12% of girls and 9% of boys admit to having consumed them.
And, according to the report studies, the consumption of somnifere and anxiolytics in the case of adolescents is greater among the female gender than in the masculine: 24% of the young people surveyed have ever consumed them, compared to 15% of
Young.
