A polar air mass over Spain today sets Wednesday in alert to eleven autonomous communities and the Autonomous City of Melilla, three of them (Balearic, Catalonia and Valencian Community) at orange level (important risk) by strong wind and maritime temporary.
According to his website, the Meteorology State Agency (AEMET), the orange alert in the Balearic archipelago is by force of force 7 to 8 on the coast of Menorca and waves between 3 and 5 meters, accompanied by strong wind racks of
70 to 80 kilometers per hour on all islands.
In Catalonia there is a wind alert by wind up to 100 kilometers per hour and waves of two to three meters on the North Litoral and there is also yellow notice (risk) for rains of up to 20 liters per square meter possibly accompanied by storm, snowfall of up to 15
centimeters of thickness and temperatures up to -8 degrees in the Leridan Pyrenees.
The Valencian Community has activated the orange wind alert for up to 100 kilometers / hour at the northern coast of Castellón and in the interior of that same province the yellow alert is by snowfall of up to 2 centimeters thick above 1,0000 meters, as well
As a maritime temporary on the coasts Alicante and Castellonse.
In Andalusia, the yellow alert is activated by Rachas of Poniente of up to 70 kilometers per hour in Almería and temporary force 7 on the Granada coast, while in Aragon is expected over 1,000 meters and accumulations of up to 10 centimeters thick,
As well as strong wind in Teruel and in El Pyrenees Oscense, where the -8 degrees will be reached.
Asturias is on yellow alert by snowfall in Picos de Europa, as well as both Castillas, where thicknesses of up to 5 centimeters of snow are expected in 24 hours above 1,200 meters and in the Community of Madrid has also activated the yellow level
By snow in the Sierra with accumulations of up to 8 centimeters in 24 hours.
In Murcia there is yellow level by strong wind up to 70 kilometers per hour;
Navarra has notice by intense snowfall from 1,100 and 1,200 meters and less intense above 700 meters inside and in the autonomous city of Melilla, alert is activated by coastal winds of force 7.
The AEMET warns that with the orange alert there is important meteorological risk, with a certain degree of danger to the usual activities, and with yellow there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although it is for some concrete activity.
