Pau Donés, deceased 16 months ago by colon cancer, would have turned 55 on October 11.
With this reason, the town of Montanuy, the cradle of his fatherly family and that he considered his people, has surrendered an emotional tribute on Monday consisting of the opening of a sculpture of the leader of Palo Syrup and the discovery of a plaque.

The Mayor of Montanuy, Esther Cherry, welcomed the family members, the Sanitarians who treated Pau Donés during the disease and the neighbors who participated in the tribute.

Cherry referred to the new viewpoint of the camera, inaugurated that same day, where the sculpture and the plate are lifted, located on a stop that allows to contemplate the valleys of Castanese and Barrava.

He noted that “it is the best place to remember Pau, from which the magical corners are seen in which he was lost to be inspired by his songs when he came to visit his family.”

The mayor was grateful for the health team having chosen Montanuy to take homage and also had words for the singer’s family, especially, for Beloved, his father, “a great lifeline of life as his son.”

He indicated that, “In addition to giving us a life lesson to all, Pau has taken all over the world the name of his people, Montanuy, who has seen him grow. He was one of those unique people with a way of understanding life always from
Love. Thanks for everything you have taught us. ”

Then the professionals of the health centers who attended the artist took the floor during their illness, who stood out that Pau had felt the need to help after knowing the illness he suffered and did so by determining cancer and raising funds.
“He was an endearing, very vital person and a disciplined patient.”

Next, a plaque was discovered with this text: “On behalf of all the Sanitarians to Pau Donés Cirera. In gratitude for his vital attitude and his gratitude and empathy he has always demonstrated towards the whole health collective. Living is urgent.”
