The urgency to reach the number of 70% immunity of the population in summer has made government president Pedro Sánchez, appear on Tuesday, April 6 to address the vaccination plan in Spain.
The announcement of Sánchez occurs after the finding that Spain has not complied with the objective of reaching the month of April with 80% of those over 80 vaccinated, which was the forecast set by the European Union.
And is that according to the data offered by the Ministry of Health at the end of March, a dose of 70.8% of this collective of the population and the complete pattern – two doses -, to 40.2% had been supplied
.
Sánchez has exposed that Spain will receive 87 million doses of vaccines between April and September and that “at the end of August 70% of adults will be immunized.”
At doses that are already received currently from Pfizer-Biontech, modern and Astrazeneca, (the three vaccines require two doses), the arrival of Janssen doses will be added (5.7 million of this unique dose vaccine before
June) and Curevac, once the latter is authorized.
The first Spanish who received the coreavirus vaccine was Araceli Hidalgo, 96, the oldest resident of the Olmos of Guadalajara.
Although some autonomous communities publish their data on how vaccination progresses in their territories, it is not done on a regular basis.
So we will take into account the information provided by the Ministry of Health to have unified data.
The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has defended that the executive forecast is to reach the summer with 70% of the Spanish immunized population.
The truth is that Spain is far from the numbers needed to reach the objective, while, countries like Israel, United Arab Emirates or the United Kingdom stand out on the rest and reach figures that place them at the Podium of the countries with the highest number of
Vaccination and immunization in the population.
