The Emergency Military Unit (UME) has been incorporated on the night of this Friday to level 2 in the Icemblo (Ávila) that has caused the cutting of a road and there is a risk for housing, according to sources of the
Board and the government delegation.
Specifically, the Ministry of Defense has given the approval to the mobilization of the UME to tackle the fire, thus mobilizes Section 1 of the Emergencies Intervention Battalion (BIEM) composed of 40 troops and 6 self-pursues, by its proximity to
Fire place, although it directs the operative La Biem V based on León.
According to the government’s delegation, fire has “a lot of virulence” with “very explosive behavior” and with a “great perimeter”.
The work area, next to the reservoir of El Burguillo, is “very complex” by its orography and danger, as well as its high slope and its access difficulty.
In addition, within the fire environment there are different villages and agrifetting buildings.
The fuel is mainly formed by grass and chaparra junipers, that is, very flammable and resinous materials.
The Forest Fire has originated at 18.12 hours in the municipality of El Tiemblo, in the province of Ávila.
At 19.04 hours, the Board has declared Level 2 of dangerousness because the emergency could involve serious risk for the population and goods other than those of a forest nature.
The flames close to the homes of the municipality and the court of the national road N-403 between kilometers 95 and 96 have motivated the level statement.
The Forest Fire Fire Operative Means of the Board are working to stifle the flames;
2 environmental agents, 2 technicians have been dispatched, 2 support units to the advanced command post, the coordination helicopter (hotel), 4 helicopters, 3 self-timber, 5 ground crews and 1 buldrog.
They collaborate in the ministry’s average extinction work for the ecological transition and the demographic challenge: 2 amphibious aircraft, coordination aircraft, 3 helicopters and 2 brif.
The Community of Madrid also collaborates in extinction with 2 helicopters.
It is the first fire in which the UME intervened in Castile and León this summer.
