Angela Merkel is the daughter of Adolf Hitler – a statement to which more people believe than you might imagine it is. But someone who spreads such nonsense, really, a conspiracy theorist? What is understood in the so-Called as an insult, is still too much of the honor, the network of activist Katharina Nocun and psychologist Pia Lamberty in her book, “Fake Facts”: Who referred to the claim that the earth is flat, as theory, gives her the appearance of something Scientific. In this case, each assertion is not a theory. Some of it is simply a lie.

Nocun and Lamberty new terms suggest, to take into account, in contrast to the lie the possibility that the claim could not be refuted. This makes sense, because how are you supposed to refute that lizard people are currently fighting against clones, in underground passages, ranging from Europe to America? This claim has been circulating actually. The authors develop the notion of a “conspiracy myth” that you use to describe the overarching Narrative. Including about the anti-Semitic legend of the alleged “Jewish world conspiracy” is. Anyone who is reading this in relevant groups, find the recurring dialogue: “But why would anyone do such a thing? And who?“ – “The Jews are, they want to rule the world.”
in Addition, Nocun and Lamberty introduce the notion of a “conspiracy story”. This means a concrete story like that of the lizard people, or the classic, the moon landing never happened. Who’s been spreading something that does not deserve the name “conspiracy theorists”. In “Fake Facts” its called “conspiracy ideologue” – a much better name, especially given the fact that these ideologues are not a harmless Lunatic, but often in a large scale propaganda operation.
This provides the book with a comprehensive Overview and also to the current developments in the Corona time. The authors describe how Youtube has been for the conspiracy platform, and explain why in such times of crisis, the mean for many people, the uncertainty and loss of control, susceptibility to bogus stories is particularly large. Because the phenomenon is examined psychologically better than the public perception would make of “the Lunatic” suspect. That there is a conspiracy mentality that led people to believe, even conflicting stories, as long as you just tell them that you heard to a minority group, explains some of the excesses.
The consciousness to be special and to stand on the side of those who have known it has always been an important part of the self-image of the conspiracy ideologists. So that you don’t want to let it go, as the following example illustrates: A woman from a suburb of Chicago had to kill in 1954, a small group gathered with the statement that a flood will all the people. A Ufo but I will save those who believe. There was a solid date, but neither the Aliens nor the Floods were. As researchers in the group had infiltrated, are the reactions of the followers known: a Few strokes of disappointed in the sails, some were again and again put off, and eventually even to believe that her strong Faith had saved the world. They were so convinced of this new lie, that she even talked about it to the media thereof.
