David Mackey, the founder and Chief Technology Officer, along with Ruth Mackey, the founder, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of Mbryonics in Galway, have recently returned from the EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ CEO Retreat in Cape Town, South Africa.
Reflecting on their experience, David described the retreat in South Africa as a surreal and unforgettable journey among some of Ireland’s most prominent entrepreneurs.
“We were fortunate to interact with key figures from South Africa’s transition to democracy, such as Francois Pienaar, Zelda La Grange, and Judge Albie Sachs, during a pivotal moment as the ANC lost its majority for the first time. Visiting townships and meeting local entrepreneurs who are thriving despite the challenges was a truly eye-opening experience, made possible by the exceptional EOY team and their network.”
