Since the publication of her book Le Frérisme et ses Réseaux, l’Enquête, published in January 2023, our anthropologist colleague Florence Bergeaud-Blackler has been the target of a cabal through press articles, slander on the networks social security, pressure on his publisher and his employer, and death threats. It now suffers the fate of the few researchers and scientists in Europe who openly expose the proselytism of the Muslim Brotherhood within the European Union. The latter and their useful allies do not like what attracts light to their affairs and do not appreciate the influence that the work enjoys.

An honest and courageous researcher, Florence Bergeaud-Blackler has devoted more than thirty years to the elucidation of Islamic norms in Europe, of which she has become one of the best specialists. A work that led her to carry out this in-depth, documented and sourced investigation on a sensitive and little-studied subject: Brotherhood and its ecosystem in Europe.

His status as a researcher, civil servant of the CNRS, guarantees him total independence and freedom of research. But it is insufficiently supported by human and social science laboratories, which avoid approaching Brotherhood, which can quietly deploy there its research and its vision of the world – what the anthropologist calls “Islamization of knowledge”. Despite these difficulties, she was able to analyze the origins, the organization, the system, the actors and the sources of financing of the Brotherhood in Europe, coming in particular from the European Union. This abounds by tens of millions of euros Brotherhood NGOs and their many screens, diverting funds from studies on racism, Islam and on Islamism in Europe towards the study of the captious theory of Islamophobia .

Our colleague is publicly reviled by those who obviously have not read or understood the work, and who associate it urbi et orbi with an “Islamophobic” text, associating it with anti-Semitic literature, even comparing its author to Drumont (!). These outrages belong in particular to the methods of fellow travelers and ideologues of the Muslim Brotherhood. They aim to hide the facts by erecting a barrier intended to annihilate the reflection and the debate that this book intends to bring to light. This ancient technique attempts to criminalize the author, his book and anyone who comes near them. To denounce, defame and insult an author in a public place, to accuse him of the worst evils aims to isolate him politically, intellectually and socially, and to stun any candidate for martyrdom who would intend to continue in the same vein, to to discuss and criticize “brotherism and its networks”, to debate and argue, in short, to recognize the usefulness of the work.

The normal and expected reaction of a democratic society is to defend its researchers against any threat and to ensure the conditions for the possibility of scientific debate. We, researchers and academics, call on our supervisory authorities, the University, the CNRS and the research centers to provide, as we are doing here, their full support for Florence Bergeaud-Blackler.
