Bonn (dpa / lnw) – With high security precautions, a spectacular drug trial began on Tuesday in the Bonn district court. Three men aged 24, 28 and 36 are accused. The eldest is said to be the head of a gang of cocaine dealers. According to the public prosecutor’s office, two of the accused are said to have sold half a kilo of this drug for 19,000 euros on June 14, 2022 in Meckenheim near Bonn. According to the indictment, the buyer was a police informant to whom the dealers are said to have offered the substance. The third accused is said to have procured drugs outside the gang structure.
The case is highly explosive because the 24 and 36-year-old suspects are said to be members of a nationwide Lebanese family gang. The police are not ruling out the possibility that the accused might try to free themselves during the trial, which is scheduled to end in June. Therefore, the process is secured by strong police forces.
