Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – A man died in an apartment fire in Frankfurt am Main. At around 7:35 p.m. on Thursday evening, an apartment on the fourth floor of an apartment building in the Heddernheim district was on fire, according to the fire brigade. There, the emergency services found a lifeless resident in a care bed.

About 20 people were able to leave the house on their own or were brought to safety by the fire brigade. One resident suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. Around 60 emergency services were on site for two and a half hours. The fire service estimates the damage to property at around 150,000 euros. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment.
