Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The real wages of employees in Baden-Württemberg fell in 2022. The decline was 4.1 percent, as announced by the State Statistical Office in Stuttgart on Thursday. Consumer prices increased significantly more than nominal wages, i.e. gross earnings including special payments. As a result, people had less purchasing power. In the past year, energy and food prices have risen sharply. Nationwide, real wages fell by 3.1 percent last year. That was the third time in a row.
