Weißenberg (dpa/sn) – After the rapid escape of a 21-year-old driver from the police in East Saxony, the man is now in custody. A judge ordered this, the Görlitz police department announced on Tuesday. The day before he had fled with his fully occupied car on the Autobahn 4 (Görlitz-Dresden) near Weißenberg before being checked by the federal police. The police lost sight of him again and again, so that he was apparently able to drop off seven refugees in Musselwitz. He is also said to have damaged several cars – the damage is estimated at around 18,000 euros. The flight only ended on the Altmarkt of Bischofswerda.
