Wettstetten (dpa / lby) – A man is said to have been beaten in Wettstetten (Eichstätt district) by at least two people and, among other things, with a hammer. The 30-year-old was meeting with a group of five to sell his car on Friday when a dispute broke out over the condition of the car, police said on Tuesday, according to initial reports. During the argument, a 36-year-old man is said to have pulled out a hammer and hit the 30-year-old on the back of the head. This was able to turn away in time and soften the blow, so that there was only a laceration. Another man is said to have hit him in the nose with his fist.

When the victim called the police, the group fled in their car. The 30-year-old’s wounds were treated by a coroner, the man did not have to go to the hospital. A short time later, a 36-year-old suspect and other suspects were arrested. If the 30-year-old hadn’t turned away, the forensic pathologist believes the blow could have been life-threatening. The 36-year-old is now being investigated for attempted manslaughter.
