Schöneck (dpa / lhe) – An 81-year-old woman was hit by a train in Schöneck (Main-Kinzig district) and seriously injured. According to previous investigations, the woman tried to cross a level crossing in the Oberdorfelden district on Sunday despite the closed barriers, as the federal police in Frankfurt announced on Monday. She overlooked the incoming train. The train driver initiated emergency braking, but was unable to prevent a collision. The seriously injured 81-year-old was treated by an emergency doctor and came to a Frankfurt accident clinic.
