A 67-year-old man has died on a road in the Coruña municipality of Ordes after being hit by a car that fled and, hours later, called the Civil Guard to confess that he had run over a person.

According to what the emergency services have reported, the 112 central received the notice at 10:30 p.m. Mercury height.

Until there, members of the Sanitary Emergencies 061 were mobilized, who could only certify the death of the victim. This is a man born in 1965 who, according to investigation sources, was not wearing reflective clothing and was walking on an unlit road.

Hours after the accident, around 02:00 in the morning, the Traffic Civil Guard received a call from a person who confessed to having run over “a bundle” when driving his car on a road in Ordes.

Subsequently, agents from the Benemérita went to this person’s home and inspected his vehicle, which shows damage compatible with a hit-and-run.

In any case, the Civil Guard Police Unit investigates the accident to clarify its causes.
