After a game of billiards, which was probably lost, two men in Brazil take up arms and literally execute several people. One of the victims: a 12-year-old girl. One of the suspects dies in an exchange of fire with special police units, the other surrenders.
Eight people were killed in an armed attack at a bar in Brazil. Seven people died in the attack in the city of Sinop in central Brazil’s Mato Grosso state, including a 12-year-old girl. One of the alleged perpetrators died after a shootout with a special unit of the Brazilian police in a rural area 15 kilometers from Sinop, the authority said. The second suspect has since been arrested. The Brazilian portal “g1” shared a photo of the man in which he can be seen wearing a campaign hat belonging to ex-President Jair Bolsonaro, who was voted out last year.
According to Brazilian media reports, the two men had lost billiard games in the bar where money was being played. Some media reports that the perpetrators were brought up after their defeat.
Video recordings from a security camera, available to the Brazilian portal “g1”, show the massacre in a brutal way. In front of the billiards shop, which is covered but open to the street, one of the perpetrators gets out of a pick-up truck. Holding a pump action shotgun, he runs, barrel raised, towards several tables where people are sitting, being held at bay by the other man with a gun. Above all, the perpetrator with the pump gun shoots at everyone in the room until they lie motionless or have fled. Some media reports that one of the perpetrators shot the 12-year-old who fled in the back.
Before exiting the pool shop, one of the perpetrators then walks to one of the pool tables and grabs what several media reports say could be the amount of money the two men lost playing. It should have gone to the equivalent of around 730 euros.
