Dingolfing (dpa / lby) – The Bavarian FDP chairman and top candidate Martin Hagen sharply criticized Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Ash Wednesday. “Markus Söder changes his mind more often than FC Nuremberg changes his coaches. You can’t rely on the man,” said Hagen at the traditional FDP rally in front of a good 400 visitors in Dingolfing, Lower Bavaria. “The Söder government has a miserable balance sheet and is trying to distract from it by pointing the finger at Berlin and operating traffic light bashing for over a year.”

The head of the FDP is optimistic about the Bavarian elections on October 8 – despite the recent FDP poll values, some of which are below five percent. “We will be successful in the Bavarian state elections,” said Hagen. The question is not who will be the strongest force, but which coalition will soon govern in the Free State. “The Free Voters can’t do it, we don’t want the Greens, and the SPD doesn’t matter anyway.”
