Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Because she is said to have tried to kill her children, a 43-year-old mother has to answer in court in Düsseldorf today (10.00 a.m.). According to the indictment, the woman stabbed her six and nine-year-old children with a knife in Neuss at the end of September last year and tried to kill herself with drugs.
Officials say her husband prevented a deadly tragedy. The man was out on the night of the crime, had called home and had become suspicious. When he returned, he found his family seriously injured and immediately alerted the police.
The children survived and the 43-year-old too: she now has to answer to the district court for attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm. Because of a serious mental illness, an expert classified her as not guilty.
She is currently in a psychiatric ward and not in prison. On the night of the crime, she is said to have suffered from delusions and believed she had to protect her children from a threat. You are now threatened with permanent admission to a closed psychiatric ward.
