Überlingen (dpa / lsw) – A truck driver got stuck on Monday with his dangerous goods transport in a forest in Überlingen (Bodenseekreis). The driver had relied on faulty navigation data and drove several hundred meters into the forest path, a police spokeswoman said.
When the driver realized his mistake, he put the car in reverse. He got off the path, got stuck in the unpaved terrain and threatened to tip over. Rescue workers from the fire brigade were called to stabilize the vehicle.
In consultation with a salvage company called in, it was planned to pump the contents of the oxygen tank into a replacement vehicle on Monday afternoon before the truck that got stuck was supposed to be righted. Initially, nothing had escaped from the hazardous substance. It was initially unclear whether the truck was damaged.
