Braunfels (dpa/lhe) – In an asylum accommodation in Braunfels in the Lahn-Dill district, a resident was stabbed and seriously injured. The 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital with severe injuries. The alleged attacker was arrested and taken into custody, as the police in Dillenburg and the public prosecutor’s office in Wetzlar announced on Wednesday. The investigators say they assume that the 30-year-old wanted to kill the woman in the attack.
The background to the bloody deed was initially unclear. According to the investigation, the man and woman are said to be married and living in divorce. Two helpers overpowered the 30-year-old and tied him up. The man also sustained lacerations in Friday’s attack. Information about his nationality was initially not available.
