Sandhausen (dpa/lsw) – SV Sandhausen will have to do without midfielder Merveille Papela in the 2nd Bundesliga until the end of the season. The 22-year-old tore the syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle during training, as the club announced on Friday a few minutes before the second division game against Darmstadt 98.
“It’s extremely bitter for Mey and bad news for SV Sandhausen and Mainz 05,” said Mikayil Kabaca, sporting director. Papela is currently on loan to Sandhausen from the 05ers.
