Salzwedel (dpa/sa) – In an accident in the Altmark district of Salzwedel, two people were trapped in their car and seriously injured. As the Salzwedel police announced on Wednesday, the 70-year-old driver drove on Tuesday afternoon on the federal highway 190 from Ritzleben in the direction of Binde. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, she left the road with her car to the right and crashed into a delineator and a tree. The car stayed on the left side.

The 70-year-old and her 64-year-old passenger were trapped in the car in the accident. Firefighters cut the roof of the car and freed the occupants. Both came to a hospital. A rescue helicopter was also deployed. In the meantime, the B190 was completely closed.
