Appenweier (dpa / lsw) – A man crashed his car into a concrete wall on Autobahn 5 near Appenweier (Ortenaukreis) and was seriously injured. The 61-year-old drove the car into the right guardrail early on Saturday morning, the police said. The car was thrown across the road in the opposite direction and collided with the concrete wall. Paramedics took the seriously injured driver to a hospital. The lane in the direction of Karlsruhe was completely closed for a short time early on Saturday morning. According to the police, it was unclear why the 61-year-old drove into the guardrail.
