Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Two strangers robbed a 62-year-old man in Frankfurt of tablets and sprayed him with pepper spray. The man was harassed by two men on Tuesday after buying prescription painkillers from a pharmacy near Frankfurt Central Station, police said on Wednesday.

The two strangers tried to snatch a carrier bag from the 62-year-old, which led to a scramble for a pack of pills. One of the perpetrators tried to rip the pack out of the man’s hands and sprayed pepper spray in his face. The two strangers then fled with two packs of pills.

A police patrol cared for the 62-year-old on site. The search for the two robbers was initially unsuccessful, it said. Investigators are looking for witnesses.
