Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – Hessen will increase its financial aid for families with triplets from next year. From birth to school enrollment, triplet families can receive up to 3540 euros in total, as the State Chancellery announced on Tuesday in Wiesbaden. That is around 500 euros more than before. Since 1999, Hesse’s prime minister has assumed honorary sponsorship from the birth of triplets to the time the children start school.

The birth of multiples is a special fortune, but also presents families with challenges, explained Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU), currently honorary godfather of more than 350 multiple families. “The energy crisis and the corona pandemic are a challenge for all of us, but especially for families with multiple children.” From January 1, 2023, the state will also finance the purchase of the first swimming badge, such as the “sea horse”, with up to 100 euros per child.
