Waldsassen (dpa / lby) – the police discovered and secured 160 kilograms of fireworks in a van in the victim’s Palatinate. The 25-year-old driver and his 29-year-old passenger were checked on Monday with their vehicle coming from the Czech Republic in Waldsassen (Tirschenreuth district), the police said on Tuesday. The duo bought the goods at one of the so-called Asia markets in Eger. They would have needed a permit for the New Year’s Eve firecrackers, without one it is said to be a criminal offense under the Explosives Act.
