Münster (dpa / lnw) – A driver drove through a cordoned-off area of ????Münster’s city center on Monday evening and slightly injured several people. The 37-year-old may have a mental illness, the police said in the evening. So far, there are no indications of a targeted injury to bystanders.
According to previous knowledge, the driver initially drove behind a patrol car on Windthorststrasse. When the patrol car turned into the city center at a blocking point, the driver continued to follow it. A security guard then reached into the vehicle through the open window, it said. The driver then accelerated his car, slightly injuring the security service employee and driving in the direction of Syndikatplatz.
According to the police, the driver actively avoided groups of people and drew attention to himself by honking his horn. The police finally stopped him at the Prinzipalmarkt. According to the investigation, while driving he touched another person who was slightly injured, a woman suffered a shock.
