Helderungen (dpa/th) – A 48-year-old was critically injured in a serious traffic accident near Helderungen in the Kyffhäuser district. The 48-year-old driver collided with the car of a 20-year-old on Wednesday afternoon for reasons that have not yet been clarified, the police said on Thursday morning. The 48-year-old then had to be taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter. The 20-year-old was also seriously injured in the accident. Due to the rescue work and the determination of the cause of the accident, the district road between Heldrungen and Oberheldrungen had to be completely closed.
