Neukalen/Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) – More than a year after two robberies in the vicinity of a discotheque in Neukalen (Mecklenburg Lake District), the trial against the alleged perpetrators begins this Wednesday. The four men are accused of aggravated robbery and dangerous bodily harm, as a spokesman for the Neubrandenburg district court said on Monday. Two of the accused, aged 23 to 29, are said to have worn skull masks during the raids. The incidents are said to have happened at the end of October 2021.

According to the police, the suspects in the small town met the 18 to 19-year-old victims twice within a short period of time and hit them with beer bottles. First a bag was stolen from the victims, later cash and a mobile phone. The perpetrators fled. The police later identified the suspects from the region, two of whom are said to have previous convictions. So far, five days of negotiations are planned for the process until the beginning of January 2023.
