Frankenthal/Ludwigshafen (dpa/lsw) – With hundreds of emergency services, the police took action against a rocker group of the Hells Angels in several places in Rhineland-Palatinate and in neighboring Baden-Württemberg. The Frankenthal public prosecutor’s office and the Rheinpfalz police headquarters announced on Tuesday that weapons, cash, drugs, as well as cowls and clothing with prohibited badges were seized. A 34-year-old has been arrested for the time being and is accused of, among other things, drug trafficking and violating the weapons law. He was due to appear before a magistrate on Tuesday.
Ten members of a charter are said to have shared previously banned club badges on social media, sparking investigations into offenses against the Clubs Act. Around 300 officers were involved in the searches of residential and business premises in Trier, Speyer, Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and the districts of Germersheim, Südliche Weinstrasse, Rhein-Palatinate Trier-Saarburg and in Karlsruhe and Pforzheim, including members of special units. Among other things, they discovered a firearm with around 80 rounds of ammunition, a crossbow, several knives, a machete, four swords and 48,000 euros in cash and 500 grams of marijuana.
