Erfurt (dpa/th) – In Thuringia, construction cranes are turning in many places this year, and company sales have risen sharply. According to figures from the State Statistical Office on Thursday, revenues in the main construction trades totaled EUR 1.8 billion in the period from January to September – an increase in sales of EUR 171 million or 10.8 percent compared to the same period last year. The increase in projects for business and trade was particularly clear at 16.0 percent.
The order situation of the companies also developed well. In the nine months to the end of September, orders were also worth 1.8 billion euros – 143.7 million euros or 8.8 percent more than in the same period in 2021. However, according to data from the State Office, incoming orders in the main construction trades were somewhat more subdued in September than in most other months of this year. Around 4,400 people are employed in Thuringia’s main construction trades.
