Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The black-green state government is planning to increase investment subsidies for Hessian hospitals. In the coming year, financial support is to increase to 380 million and then to 390 million in 2024, said Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) on Monday in Wiesbaden. With further measures, the state wants to make a total of almost one billion euros available for investments in the Hessian hospitals in the next two years.

According to the minister, the social budget of the planned double budget 2023/24 of the state government also includes funds for additional practice-integrated and paid training places for educators. Furthermore, an expansion of short-term and day care is planned in the country and more money is earmarked for language and labor market support for refugees from Ukraine and the social budget.

The adoption of the double budget in the Hessian state parliament is scheduled for the beginning of next year. Despite the high costs of the relief packages negotiated with the federal government, Hesse has so far not wanted to shake the debt brake.
