Schwieberdingen (dpa/lsw) – A burning candle caused a fire with high damage in a house in the district of Ludwigsburg. According to the police, when leaving the house on Sunday evening, the residents forgot to turn off the candle next to a sofa in the living room of the house. When they returned about two hours later, the residents noticed the fire and rescued their two dogs from the house. The 41-year-old resident suffered mild smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital.
The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire in the municipality of Schwieberdingen. But the living room is no longer habitable. The damage is estimated at more than 250,000 euros.
